Don't you love how the media is now reporting how Rahm Emanuel is an Orthodox Jew? It seems to me that this was kept pretty low profile throughout the Clinton years and throughout his past six years in Congress.
What's going on here? Not only has Obama picked a first-class political operative, but he's also found his Uncle Tom for the Jewish community, immunizing himself in advance from criticism about his policies towards Israel. How could his policies be negative toward Israel with Rahm Emanuel by his side? Why, even Michael Medved thinks Rahm is reasonable. I like Medved (and am a Medhead), but maybe he's tacking toward the center in order to immunize himself from the coming fairness doctrine.
The fix is in. I already predicted a love-in with Iran. Today's New York Times reports a congratulations letter from Ahmedinejad. Buried in the Times' story is Iran's wish (threat?) that the U.S. should mind its own business, stick to matters close to home and leave Iran to its on devices. I have no doubt that Obama will do exactly that. Now that Uncle Rahm is there to run interference, it's a certainty.
