I just heard a soundbite from Van Jones where he uses the phrase " the environmental justice community." What exactly is this community? I always hear these phrases about various communities. My first girlfriend, more than 20 years ago, always used terms like the "women's community," which led me to tell my closest friend: "the women's community? That's half the freakin' world!". The girlfriend spent twenty years engaged in lesbianism, followed by a return to men. Thought you'd want to know.
Whenever I hear about these very specialized "communities" I visualize six people sittng in a room tapping out bogus angry emails, texts, blogs and twitters.
